Green and Global Fun Day 2009

Find out how you can do your bit for the environment at this year's Green & Global Fun Day at the Princes Hall, Aldershot on Sunday 4 October from 11am - 4.30pm.

This year's theme is 'Bee Green' and you can learn about wildlife gardening and how to attract bees and other insects into your garden.

The FREE event is organised by Rushmoor Borough Council with lots of activities for all the family including crafts, workshops and live entertainment.

The first 200 visitors will also receive a free Fairtrade gift!

• Children from Shuffles Dance Studio in Farnborough will be taking to the stage to perform dressed in colourful bumble bee costumes
• Children from St Joseph's Roman Catholic School in Aldershot will be performing a special song written to celebrate their achievement in becoming the first Fairtrade School in Rushmoor
• Performances by Persia Belly Dance in Farnborough
• Live music from Tudor Lodge and Stodge
• Meet sustainability expert, Trudy Thompson and find out how to create a greener home
• Activities for children – crafts, story time, singing, mask making and face painting
• Eco-cinema (Including the FREE showing of 'Age of Stupid')
• Wildlife garden and home composting clinic
• Meet the council's environmental mascot, Eco the hedgehog
• Fairtrade Charity Café.
• Community groups and green advice
