60th
Anniversary
The 46th edition of the Farnborough
International Airshow celebrates
its 60th Anniversary that
commemorates it’s first
show in 1948 held for the
very first time at the Farnborough
Aerodrome.
First established as a way
for the British public to
see and learn about the best
of British aviation engineering,
Farnborough has since emerged
as the world’s premier
global showcase for all things
aerospace. The original 187
exhibitors who assembled in
1948 have now been joined
by some 1200 further companies
from literally every part
of the world.
Over the decades dozens of
new aircraft have made their
debut at Farnborough. A tradition
that continues today! The
public days (19-20 July 2008)
will look back at the successes
of previous Farnborough Airshows,
reminding us the importance
of Farnborough itself and
how it has contributed to
the success of the Aerospace
industry as it is today.
